Senior Design Engineer

The Opportunity

Our client, an industry leader in the Civil Engineering sector is looking for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their team. This role is within a multi-disciplinary firm in Calgary, AB.
This ideal candidate will have strong technical design in preparation of construction drawings and documents supporting the land development team in municipal infrastructure, cost estimating, design approvals, engineering analysis and team development & mentoring. This is a great starting point for those who are Civil Designers looking to expand their knowledge eventually into Project Management and building their own team.

Responsibilities
• Preparation of detailed design drawings with AutoCAD Civil 3D for engineering projects in addition to designing Erosion & Sediment Control plans, topographic information, earthworks, sewer design, and contract documents for project execution.
• Ability to work within the municipality understanding process, standards and applications for municipal engineering infrastructure; Provincial and Municipal Building Codes, Development Control Bylaws, construction standards, all areas of legislations and strong technical knowledge in design issues, construction, cost and design approvals.

Qualifications
• CET or Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (PEng)
• Minimum 5- 8 years of experience in a previous role
• PMP designation is an asset
