TRS is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for a direct hire position within our client's growing team of professionals in the Washington, DC area. We seek someone that will enhance our Building Engineering Group capacity. Ideally, this person will have 6-10 years' experience in the design of mechanical systems and some knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, eQuest, Energy Pro, IES or similar experience. We are looking for candidates with a strong focus on client service, sustainable design, and innovation.

Status of hire: full-time, direct hire, salaried plus bonus
Assist in the procurement of work; manage multi-disciplinary project teams including client relations and team motivation
Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them
Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings
Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering fundamentals
Track record of sustainable and innovative approach to design
Understanding of passive design systems that influence mechanical requirements
Load calculations and some Energy modeling experience Design mechanical systems including: heating, cooling, heat rejection, air and water distribution, ventilation, air conditioning, building automation and controls
Familiarity with codes, IMC, ASHRAE standards 55, 62.1, 90.1
Perform system design calculations
Prepare contract drawings detailing the designed systems
Select equipment for use in building systems
Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects
Manage a small project, work area or technical skill set, monitor quality of work, and is involved in client liaison
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Architectural Engineering with a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals
6-10 years of experience in the design of mechanical systems and some knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, eQuest, Energy Pro, IES or similar experience.
Project management and supervisor experience
Business development interest/capabilities, commercial/financial awareness
LEED AP with a specialty preferred
Proven interest in the field of building design

**Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check to be eligible for hire.
**Local candidates preferred though some relocation assistance is available for candidates meeting all requirements.
$90-110K plus an outstanding benefits package including healthcare, 401k match, time off and profit share
