We are currently recruiting for a major EPC contractor in the Power Industry. They have an urgent requirement for a Site Quality Engineer to work on a Substation construction project.

This is a contract position, 9-12 months in duration.

Role Outline:

To provide support to the Project Manager, Site Manager and EPC Quality Manager with respect to the management and control of the supply and build of equipment on the Substation project. The role requires a team player, able to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and determination to deliver compliance and control throughout the project. The role will involve management of documentation and installation and commissioning quality of equipment for the Substation project to ensure full compliance and provision of documentation to meet the client's specification and procedures and ultimately for handover to the Client.

Main accountabilities:

• The development and maintenance of QMS system elements to ensure compliance with project standards.
• Liaising with Client or partner representatives for supply chain aspects of Quality Assurance.
• Managing internal and external standards and associated documentation on the project.
• Compiling regular reports to support management reports and KPI data.
• Process and analysis of QMS data.
• Providing QMS support and input to the project development and delivery process.
• Support and manage the supply chain through identified QRAs
• Ensure accurate records are produced by the supply chain that demonstrate compliance with Contract specifications and in house processes.
• Promote the raising of non-compliance and defect reports within the supply chain and monitor and manage close out.
• Provide coaching to supply chain employees in all aspects of Quality Assurance in order to promote quality assurance and in particular specific aspects of this project.
• Liaising closely with civils, installation and commissioning team
• Working closely within a project team environment.

Qualifications/Experience

The role demands good knowledge of ISO Standard (9000 series) and, practical experience of implementation in QMS
Good verbal and written communication skills being able to communicate at all levels within the organization.
Experience of process mapping and implementing, monitoring & improving processes.
Proven experience working with a supply chain in a QA role.
A level of IT literacy is preferred
Some base knowledge of functional safety systems and requirements of the project.
Experience biased towards quality management is required. However some knowledge of H&S and environmental considerations is preferred.
Previous experience in a HV substation environment
