Strategic Analyst

Our client in The Hague area is looking for a Strategic Analyst. The strategic analyst is a key function in developing a potential business case into an actual project for a renewable chemical complex. So the strategic analyst will be involved in a project from initial stage supporting the business development and the strategic planning in translating the market information plus potential business case into a financial model with full assessment form technical and commercial case. The strategic analyst will also be involved with all major stakeholders in a project from equity investors to financing institutes and from technology providers to feedstock suppliers and off-takers. Our client has developed several models and platforms support the work of the strategic analyst.

Job description:

• Understand and follow bio/renewable chemical market.
• Together with our engineering team translate technical processes into financial and business models
• Together with our project taking the project execution strategy and convert that in the financial and financing models.
• Oversee the project from a business point of view from concept into EPC and operations for necessary timing.
• Perform financial and data analysis.
• Communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop necessary reporting and presentation for the different stakeholders.
• Develop executive-level and other client briefings that translate technical subject matter into non-technical terms

Basic key requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or (commercial) economy, data science or chemical engineering with interest in developing business models for the bio-chemical industry.
• Minimum 1 year experience as data analyst or strategic planner, preferable in a bio-chemical environment.
• A commercial thinker by nature.
• Highly organized, creative and energetic individual who likes to work in an entrepreneurial culture, self-starter
• Excellent communications and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of Information Technology.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
