Position specific responsibilities and requirements:
Technical Documentation & Training Lead
Promotes the use of technology and assists the South Flank IPT to make the best use of emerging digital strategy applications. Develops and maintains technical documentation and monitors end-user feedback and systems development for the continuing improvement of documentation.
Responds to document and training requirements of the project with minimum guidance or direction.
Coordinates the activities associated with training end-users and documenting procedures and processes for the South Flank Digital Technical Team.
Develops and maintains related SharePoint Intranet web pages.
Develops reporting and presentation materials.
The role is the primary training resource for the South Flank systems being deployed in the following areas:
Project Cloud Infrastructure
Information Management and Integration
Materials Management and Tracking
Fabrication and Construction Visualisation
Business Process Management and Reporting
Commissioning Interface and Integration
Prepare training materials and schedule training sessions. Lead the development and documentation of project training procedures, standards, manuals and user guides.
Participate in the development and maintenance of the project SharePoint Intranet sites.
Documenting processes and policies related to digital technical team development, reporting and presentations.
Consults with functional departments to analyze business process-supporting technology needs and documents new processes for end-user retrieval of data and/or information.
Facilitates change management on the project through promotion of the use of technology and applications to support continued efficiency and improvement in processes.
Position required competencies and skills:
Strong organisational, computer, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of adult learning techniques; database retrieval tools; web development tools; instructional training concepts
Ability to: Develop and present training to a diverse project team; consult with functional departments to analyze business processes and support technology needs; coordinate presentations: facilitate reporting and work with a minimum of supervision.
Position required qualifications:
Previous experience training end-users and documenting processes and the ability to work independently without supervision
Some knowledge of various Hexagon SmartPlant, Aconex or OpenText Metastorm applications and/or other engineering CAD software such as AutoDesk / Microstation desired
Some previous work experience in an engineering company in the Mining and/or Oil & Gas industries desired
Position desired experience, competencies and qualifications:
Engineering or Education diploma in related field and a minimum of 5 years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of experience in technical documentation development, training &/or applications support
Experience must include creating documentation and performing end-user training in a complex technical environment and using instructional design concepts for training.
