Key responsibilities:
• Lead the Technology and Product development portfolio
• Liaise with the organisation’s panel manufacturers and manage improvements relevant to their production processes.
• Manage the on-going Technology development for the business
• Lead the key technology feasibility investigations and scale-up testing for new projects
• Develop the patent portfolio and participle in the IP strategy in conjunction with the Group legal function.
• Assess the Technology landscape across the industry and competitors
• Liaise with the BD function to continually develop the technology roadmap for products and processes
• Scan new technology opportunities and propose portfolio of new technology options to investigate
• Work with various joint venture sites to troubleshoot any acetylation matters and identify and implement continuous improvement projects relating to analysis techniques, acetylation process and final product quality.
• Manage the priorities for the Arnhem pilot reactor and test prototypes
• Manage the priorities for testing in the Arnhem laboratory
• Participate in and support new process development activities
• Participate in various key technology vendor equipment.
Qualifications, experience and competences:
• Ideally a MSc or PhD in Chemistry or similar
• Extensive years of experience in a similar role
• Have a strong technical capability
• Strong R&D and scale-up background
• Strong team leadership skills
• Ability to drive progress across a matrix organisation
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
• Excellent command of English.
• Dutch knowledge desirable.
• Competent in problem solving and decision-making
• Demonstrable drive, ambition and vision
• Organised, structured and results/execution focused
• Ability to maintain focus whilst managing numerous work-related deadlines
• Good attention to detail
• Must Possess strong computer skills including excellent PowerPoint and
• Excellent project management skills with an ability to meet deadlines
