Our client, a global operating company, is looking for a Unit Commissioning Systems Owner for a world class project in Louisiana.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The Unit Commissioning System Owner will be instrumental in the management and delivery of all associated procedures and plans to deliver the systems allocated to them as one of eight process units that will make up the initial phase of the Mega Project. The job will require a high degree of integration not only with other systems on the units but within the complex and also the Technology Providers, major Vendors and the EPC companies.
The unit Commissioning System Owner must hold the safe and environmentally friendly development and execution of their units commissioning preparation as their number one priority and ensure the safe execution of their commissioning systems in the field.
Roles and Responsibilities:
To deliver the commissioning of the systems allocated to the system owner within a process unit. The Commissioning System Owner must lead a multi disciplinary team incorporating ongoing site operations and maintenance personnel in the development of procedures and plans to ensure the successful start up of the unit and its supporting infrastructure
Ensure a safe and environmentally friendly commissioning approach is inherent to all unit commissioning activities and procedures produced
Develop effective commissioning procedures for unit commissioning by working with technology providers, vendors and the EPC company
Execute pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up of the systems allocated within the unit
Initially solve commissioning execution and integration problems
Attend design and other engineering reviews to ensure the commissioning and operational elements are incorporated within the design
Ensure SHE aspects during commissioning and start up are adhered too.
Manage the delivery of all allocated commissioning systems
Develop effective commissioning systems files for each system the engineer has been allocated
Ensures inclusion of all commissioning and operational design requirements into
Enable to manage simultaneous construction & commissioning operations and procedures
Maintain safe and effective system and unit isolations standards for the systems allocated and later across the entire unit
Monitors construction progress and quality via the development of close working relationships with the construction team
Give input to the tracking and report system for commissioning progress
Give daily input to the commissioning log
Assist in the preparation of the PSSR process
Be a key participant in the punch listing activities for the systems
Ensure a witness is available to attend to all pre-commissioning activities
Be actively involved and support the turnover from construction and handover to operations processes
The role will require some travel as design and fabrication of the unit and modules is worldwide
After the initial commissioning phase revert to a shift work pattern in support of the Unit operations team through start up and the initial operational period
Education / Skils / Experience:
Bachelors Degree preferred or suitable commissioning experience
At least 10 years in a commissioning position, plus evidence of significant commissioning delivery experience at the commissioning system owner level.
Major plant operational experience plus experience in ethane, ethylene and high pressure power systems would be desirable.
