Here is an exciting opportunity to join a mega project in Kitimat, British Columbia as a Welding Construction Coordinator! You would be at work within a growing EPCM/construction firm with projects worldwide and joining a team of talented professionals all working towards one goal. This opportunity boasts longevity, a great work-life balance rotation of 14/7, and excellent accommodations.

In this very exciting role, the qualified individual will receive direction from construction supervisors/superintendents and area technical services managers, and will be the first point of contact for design issues and interfaces that arise in the field. The candidate will also work closely with the quality manager and technical services managers to ensure the requirements of the site quality manual/project specifications are met.

Job duties:
-Provides technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents and contractors, and provides specific expertise for problem-solving activities.
-Coordinates the work of field engineers, drafters, technicians, and other personnel who provide assistance on specific assignments.
-Coordinates the preparation and revision of technical work procedures (in conjunction with field engineering) consistent with project design and construction requirements.
-Validates material take-offs and equipment forecasts prepared by WFP, as well as initiates and prepares requisitions for the procurement of services, necessary to support the project schedule.
-Remains knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner and, while supervising others, has responsibility for their safety and ensures that they comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits.

Qualifications:
-Possess CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector (CSA 178.2) or equivalent
-Relevant industry certifications such as API 510 / 570 / 571 / 577 / 580, ABSA Welding Examiner
-Functional knowledge of ASME BPVC VIII, IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, CSA W178.2
-Working knowledge of the SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and Orbital welding processes
-Practical knowledge of purgeless (No Back Gas) welding using the RMD and/or STT GMAW process
-Ability to speak and effectively communicate technical welding and field construction issues to an audience that may include coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and supervisors.
