TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handling Engineering Lead role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a full-time permanent position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve vendor lists, prepare quotation requests, bid tabulations, and purchase orders.
  • Supervise and Lead the design of conveyors, perform calculations, and determine drive and take-up details.
  • Manage project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other baseline documents.
  • Supervise the development of material handling designs for crushing and screening facilities.
  • Authorize trade-off study reports comparing technical and commercial aspects.
  • Size storage stockpiles and bins, and design reclaim arrangements.
  • Lead the review of vendor equipment documentation.
  • Assign work to teams, monitor progress, and manage scope of work.
  • Create and review material handling equipment specifications and design criteria.
  • Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors into design.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Over 15 years of experience in bulk material handling engineering and design.
  • Mining background is a must.
  • At least 10 years in leadership role.
  • Professional certification or registration with a recognized engineering association.
  • Proficient in reading drawings, PFDs, and P&IDs.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and contributing in a team environment.
  • Strong English communication skills for interacting with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Ability to work in the office, with potential for remote work based on experience.
  • Preferred: Advanced knowledge of belt conveyor standards (CEMA, ISO, DIN) and design software (Sidewinder, Newton), plus practical field experience.
