TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Senior S3D / Plant Designer role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry. 

 
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Prepare 3D layouts and/or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of advanced complexity in 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings.
• Create 3D models in Intergraph Smartplant environment.
• Participate in model review sessions.
• Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of moderate to advanced complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements and actively seek discrepancy resolution.
• Assign work to and check work done by other designers.
• Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design.
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

 
Basic Job Requirements:
 

• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study
• A combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) to fifteen (15) years
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
• Strong experience with Smartplant 3D software OR comparable 3D software.
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials.
• Intermediate computer and software skills.
