Our client, a leading Industrial Construction company with services Canada-wide, is currently recruiting for a Civil Superintendent to join their team in Toronto, ON.
This candidate will be responsible for supporting the project and construction management with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for all construction activities; Ensures conformance to project work rules and regulations. This will be a full-time contract position.
In this very exciting role, the qualified candidate will monitor and audit the performance of DFL personnel in assuring that work is completed according to specifications, plans, construction schedules, applicable safety regulations, and quality requirements.
Job Duties:
- Monitor and audit the performance of DFL personnel in assuring that work is completed according to specifications, plans, construction schedules, applicable safety regulations, and quality requirements
- Coordinates with the Engineer Manager and Project Engineering to resolve technical problems encountered during the construction phase; Provides an immediate response
- Participates in meetings where the specific function expertise is required
- Participates in weekly review meetings to review and discuss work progress, and area plans to resolve problems of schedule delays indicated by trend data
- Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental, and Sustainability Policies
Qualifications:
- Successfully managed civil activities on projects, fully knowledgeable and experienced in the means, processes, and methods needed to successfully construct and install site preparation work, earthworks (excavation, backfill, and compaction), underground utilities, large mass pour concrete foundations, grouting, structural steel, buildings, HVAC, fireproofing, insulation, painting, and coatings, paving, grading, landscaping
- Successfully supervised and managed a minimum of 100 craft personnel
- Successfully supervised and managed the construction activities of multiple civil, concrete, structural, building, painting, scaffolding, insulation contractors
