We are seeking a COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS ADVISOR (ENGLISH/SPANISH BILINGUAL) to support our client's contracting and procurement activities for studies and sustaining capital projects across multiple regions. This dynamic role offers opportunities to influence early-stage studies and contribute to strategic sourcing initiatives within a global heavy industry portfolio.

Work Location: Remote work within BC or AB
Employment Type: Independent Contractor
Contract Duration: 1 year term with possible extension
Hourly Rate: Commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end strategic sourcing for goods and services supporting studies and sustaining capital projects.
  • Develop and execute procurement plans, RFx processes, and sourcing strategies, including bidder qualification, bid evaluations, and supplier negotiations.
  • Lead contract negotiation, formation, and operationalization in ERP systems (SAP, Ariba), ensuring compliance with governance and ESG standards.
  • Administer pre-award and post-award activities, including contract management, performance monitoring, change orders, and close-out.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with project objectives and maintain accurate documentation for Stage-Gate requirements.
  • Drive systems optimization for procurement and contract management processes.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement, contracting, or supply chain within heavy industry (energy, mining, or EPC projects).
  • Familiarity with capital projects and study-phase contracting; major project experience is not mandatory.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, with proven ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Ariba preferred) and ability to optimize processes.
  • Must speak fluent English and Spanish to support projects in Chile, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, US, and Ghana.
