Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all personnel and activities related to the overhead launching gantry, including equipment assembly, load testing, launching operations, segment erection, post‑tensioning, load transfer, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement short‑term schedules for supervisors and equipment operators, identifying and reporting any operational or scheduling issues.
- Provide training and competency assessments for equipment operators and supporting staff on safe and effective gantry operation.
- Train maintenance teams on equipment servicing, component replacement, and proper escalation procedures to the engineering department.
- Build strong relationships with project‑related unions, support manpower planning, and manage daily workforce‑related issues.
- Work closely with the Quality Control Manager to interpret project specifications and ensure all erection activities comply with approved design documents and quality plans.
- Ensure all construction activities follow project plans, approved work methods, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate required inspections with local authorities and ensure subcontractors comply with all contractual requirements.
- Oversee transportation and installation of precast deck segments and the installation of post‑tensioning components (bars and cables).
- Collaborate with field engineers, internal departments, and subcontractors to maintain seamless work execution.
- Provide direction to supervisory personnel and subcontractors to ensure work procedures are properly planned and executed, minimizing delays.
- Prepare required project documentation and maintain clear communication with clients and subcontractors regarding progress and production status.
- Participate in pre‑construction cost estimating and budgeting; monitor expenditures throughout the project lifecycle and report to the Project Controller.
- Coordinate material submittals and ensure all stakeholders remain informed and aligned with project requirements.
- Enforce safety, health, and environmental standards across all work sites.
- Ensure foremen, laborers, and subcontractors work safely and address non‑compliance issues promptly.
Requirements:
- 10+ years' experience, and background in heavy civil industry.
- Strong understanding of the construction market, company services, and competitive landscape.
- Broad knowledge of general construction with solid grounding in civil, infrastructure, and MEP work.
- Proven ability to organize and manage work activities within defined processes.
- Capability to evaluate make‑or‑buy decisions effectively.
- Proficiency in construction cost estimation, scheduling, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Knowledge of labor costs, construction materials, methods, and industry best practices.
- Strong English communication skills; additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Russian are considered an asset.
- Technical diploma or equivalent academic background.
- Demonstrated experience in similar roles within construction or engineering projects.
- Onsite experience working in multicultural and international environments.
