Responsibilities:
- Oversee major erection operations, including budgeting, scheduling, supply chain coordination, and compliance with safety standards.
- Develop a thorough understanding of all permanent and temporary structure designs, construction methodology documents, and equipment operation manuals.
- Supervise all key erection activities to ensure full adherence to approved engineering documents and project specifications.
- Coordinate and manage the execution of superstructure erection and all related production activities within the site area.
- Support the Construction Manager in activities related to project completion and handover.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders for large‑scale precast element erection, including components such as viaduct segments and spines.
- Serve as the primary technical resource on site, providing guidance to supervisors, site personnel, and subcontractors.
- Review and verify plans, drawings, and material quantities to ensure accuracy.
- Confirm that all materials and executed works meet project requirements and specifications.
- Assist the Erection Manager with price analyses and contribute to cost‑effective engineering proposals.
- Interpret and manage contract design documents issued by clients, the engineering department, or external designers.
- Review structural steel and concrete drawings, specifications, and relevant technical documents.
- Assess construction equipment requirements and validate contractor plans.
- Evaluate structural steel erection plans, method statements, and rigging studies.
- Review and finalize installation durations, sequencing, and coordination efforts with Contractors and Erection Superintendents.
- Coordinate essential site interfaces—such as cranes, scaffolding, and logistics—to maintain schedule integrity.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, planners, quantity surveyors, and site workforce to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Work with local authorities to ensure compliance with all regulatory and permitting requirements.
- Communicate project updates clearly with clients and their representatives, attending regular progress meetings as needed.
- Oversee daily site operations, including supervision of the labor force and subcontractor activities.
- Evaluate non‑conforming materials or components and determine required repairs or replacements.
- Plan site activities and organize plant and facilities to meet project deadlines efficiently.
- Ensure robust quality control measures and strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Prepare required project reports and documentation.
- Troubleshoot unexpected technical challenges and coordinate solutions promptly.
- Maintain full compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
- Around 5 years of experience in heavy civil industry.
- Strong understanding of the industry landscape, including company services, market needs, and competitor offerings.
- Broad knowledge of general construction practices with a solid grasp of erection methodologies and techniques.
- Ability to effectively organize and coordinate activities within structured processes.
- Proficiency in construction cost estimating, scheduling, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Knowledge of labor costs, construction materials, installation techniques, and associated expenses.
- Familiarity with contract management, legal requirements, and safety standards.
- Excellent command of English; additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Russian are an asset.
- Understanding of legislation related to works contracts, public works, and relevant industry regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in similar roles within construction or engineering projects.
- On‑site experience in multicultural and international project environments.
