TRS has an exciting opportunity for an Estimator role to join our client’s growing team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our client's pre-construction team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project bids and execution.

Responsibilities:
 

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using specialized software.
• Address any ambiguities or special technical requirements in bid documents.
• Calculate costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Present bid findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Develop initial cost estimates and project budgets.
• Support project teams with cost-related inquiries and change orders.
• Create preliminary construction timelines and logistics plans.
• Work with subcontractors and suppliers to gather competitive pricing.
• Evaluate and interpret contract documents, including blueprints and specifications.
• Analyze project risks and opportunities, proposing mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:
 

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Estimating certification (in progress or willing to obtain).
• 5-8 years of experience in construction estimating, ideally with a general contractor.
• Experience with diverse construction projects, including industrial, commercial, or civil.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Skilled in developing construction plans and schedules.
• Familiarity with Canadian construction contracts and regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately.
