TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for an Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry. 

Responsibilities:
 

• Support the development and execution of I&C engineering activities in alignment with project standards and industry codes.
• Contribute to scope definition, design criteria, equipment selection, and preparation of technical specifications.
• Assist with project planning activities including effort-hour estimates, schedule inputs, and material take‑offs.
• Prepare and update engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, instrument datasheets, schedules, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
• Perform technical calculations, assist with sizing and selection of instruments and valves, and ensure proper integration with process, electrical, and control systems.
• Review vendor documentation and participate in design checks for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure coordinated and consistent deliverables across disciplines.
• Provide technical support throughout design, procurement, and construction phases.
• Participate in internal knowledge‑sharing activities and help maintain engineering best practices.
• Perform additional project tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Eligibility for or registration with a professional engineering association is preferred.
• Approximately 5–15+ years of experience in I&C or related engineering fields (flexible depending on project needs).
• Strong understanding of instrumentation, control systems, and applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Experience preparing instrumentation design deliverables such as datasheets, I/O lists, control narratives, and P&IDs.
• Familiarity with project execution processes, cost estimation inputs, and engineering work planning.
• Proficiency with engineering tools and software commonly used for I&C design.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multi‑disciplinary project teams.
