Pipeline Engineer
TRS Staffing is working with an outstanding Calgary based EPC company and they are looking for a strong Pipeline Engineer to work on Alberta Oil and Gas design projects. This is a long-term opportunity.
Duties include:
Developing design criteria and preparing specifications, design computations, drawings, models, and bills of material based on project requirements.
Performing detailed code calculations and applying advanced engineering techniques to complex tasks.
Completing and reviewing piping data in the line list.
Preparing and reviewing engineering work packages.
Preparing and reviewing manual valve and piping specialty item lists.
Preparing and reviewing valve and specialty item datasheets.
Preparing and reviewing tie-in lists.
Checking piping isometric and general arrangement drawings.
Participating in design reviews and HAZOPs as needed.
Providing technical guidance to junior staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering.
Minimum 10 years of experience in pipeline engineering, specifically related to SAGD pipelines.
Knowledge of CSA Z662 and ASME B31.3 codes and standards for pipeline engineering.
Thorough understanding of SAGD pipelines, material selection, high strength materials, and high temperature pipelines.
Experience in designing buried and above-ground oil and gas pipelines.
Familiarity with pipeline regulatory requirements for AB, BC, and SK.
Knowledge of pipeline route selection and constructability requirements.
Experience in the procurement of pipeline components (RFQ, TBE, RFP, document review, etc.).
P.Eng. registration with APEGA.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
