TRS is currently working with an international mining owner that supports sustainability and promotes eco-friendly environment who needs unique individuals to bring their talents and contribute to their growing team.

PROCUREMENT & CONTRACT SPECIALIST (Contract Full-time) - This is an 18-month contract Vancouver based opportunity. Administers full contracting lifecycles safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company objectives. Develops and recommends contract strategies to improve safety, maintain operation continuity, reduce costs, and ensure compliance, including managing RFP processes, evaluating proposals, and handling contract execution and closure.

Employment Status: Independent Contractor
Work Location: Vancouver office
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday work in Vancouver office

Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Supply Chain, Business Management, or Material Management.
  • At least 8 years of experience in: Procurement, Contract management, ERP systems, Market engagement, and Commercial terms negotiation
  • Project experiences: Mining owner, EPC, Mining, Oil & gas, Maritime, Construction
  • Software proficiency: SAP, Ariba, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with: Procurement of capital equipment and services and Full contracting cycle
  • Ability to: 
    • Manage risk throughout the contract lifecycle
    • Handle pre-award and post-award phases
    • Draft and manage change orders and contract amendments
  • Project involvement: Large-scale projects, Various project phases, Projects in different locations, Long-term involvement in projects
  • Ability to: Issue RFPs, Draft procurement/contracting strategies, Interface with stakeholders
  • Experience in: Negotiation of commercial terms, High-value contracts for equipment and services, Collaboration with legal in drafting terms
  • Ability to lead processes or provide support in various capacities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
