A leading organization in the natural resources sector is seeking a PROJECT COMMERCIAL SERVICES SPECIALIST to support the delivery of large-scale capital projects. This role is responsible for executing procurement and contracting strategies, managing service agreements, and supporting project performance through effective commercial oversight.

Work Location: Vancouver with periodic travel to project sites across BC 
Contract Duration: 1 year with possible extension
Employment Type: Independent Contractor

Key Responsibilities
  • Support end-to-end procurement of services including engineering, consulting, and site support services
  • Develop and execute contracting strategies aligned with project objectives
  • Prepare and issue tender documentation, manage bid evaluations, and support award recommendations
  • Negotiate commercial terms and draft service agreements and contract documents
  • Manage contract variations, extensions, and change orders through to completion
  • Review supplier invoices against contract terms and support payment processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure effective service delivery
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs and improve commercial outcomes
  • Support logistics, equipment, and operational service agreements as required

Qualifications
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline
  • Strong understanding of procurement, contracting, and commercial processes
  • Experience in procurement, contracts, or commercial roles within projects or industrial environments
  • Exposure to capital projects, construction, or mining environments preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) is an asset

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective stakeholder communication and relationship management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
