A major resource development organization is seeking a PROJECT CONTROLS ANALYST to support large-scale capital projects. This role focuses on cost control, project reporting, and change management, working closely with internal teams and external contractors. The successful candidate will contribute across all project phases and play a key role in project performance monitoring and decision support.

Work Location: Vancouver with periodic travel to project sites across BC
Contract Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide cost control and change management support for capital projects
  • Support procurement and contracting-related cost management activities
  • Maintain and track budgets, forecasts, and cost baselines
  • Prepare and coordinate monthly and ad hoc project reports
  • Analyze cost and schedule variances and escalate risks or deviations
  • Act as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, and commercial groups
  • Review contracts and vendor deliverables to ensure project controls requirements are met
  • Support project planning, forecasting, and investment documentation
  • Assist in schedule development and tracking alongside planning teams
  • Participate in planning sessions, risk assessments, and project reviews

Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Project Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of project controls, cost management, and construction practices
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in engineering, construction, or project environments
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in project controls (cost, reporting, or change management)
  • Experience working on large-scale capital projects preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Fieldglass, Ariba) is an asset
