We are currently seeking for a GENERAL MANAGER on behalf of a Canadian mining company with mining operations in Mexico.

They just finished building the mine and this role would be responsible in running the operations side of things.

This is a site based senior leadership role in Mexico and must have strong technical knowledge of open pit mine operations.

· Managing day-to-day mining operations (Mine, Mill, Maintenance, Technical, HR, HSE, Security)
· Formation and management of the operational team
· Superlative communication skills and ability to coordinate and direct staff towards achieving overall corporate objectives
· Focus on achieving key production metrics
· Demonstrate strong budget and fiscal management
· Ability to pursue innovative methods that create value added financial benefits
· Understand and demonstrate strength in maintaining and developing Community Relations
· Excellence in full stakeholder relations (operational staff; corporate Toronto office; shareholders)
· Ability to work in a high pressure environment while maintaining crucial timelines and production levels
· Leadership skills that create a cohesive and driven work environment

Key Requirements:

· Relevant educational background: Degree in Mining or Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized institution
· Solid experience managing remote mining operations with preference being within Latin America.
· Candidates have native level Spanish or equivalent and ideally strong English capabilities (spoken and written).
