Here is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a project team in Calgary, Alberta as a a Buyer/ Procurement team member who, based at the Project Site, with guidance from Purchasing Management, handles project permanent material, non-permanent material, tools and consumables and any other purchases as required for the Project.

Key Job Duties
• Work with JV project management and the construction team to determine needs and assist in procuring items required for the Project.
• Analyzes purchase requisitions to ensure clarity and completeness in description of materials and equipment, quantity and quality requirements, proper authorization of funding, delivery requirements, mode of transportation, and proper support documentation.
• Establishes and maintains the list of qualified suppliers, by commodity, approved by the project and/or department.
• Negotiates the best price, delivery, terms of payment and purchase order terms & conditions, tax exemptions, price escalation, and other factors impacting costs.
• Investigates domestic and international market conditions, makes comparative analyses of price and delivery conditions, availability and quality of material and new sources of supply.
Key Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent appropriate General Certificates of Secondary Education or global equivalent, however four (4) year accredited degree or global equivalent preferred
• Five (5) years of related experience within Buying/Procurement
• Knowledge of local market along with contacts in order to procure items required for construction team.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, provincial and federal statutes and guidelines
