Overview
The Contracts Administrator supports field construction, commissioning, and operations teams by managing the full contract lifecycle for suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Prepare, review, and administer service agreements, purchase orders, change orders, and contract amendments.
- Ensure contractor compliance with scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality requirements.
- Maintain contract files, logs, and correspondence in accordance with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Support contract close‑out, including deliverables, warranties, and final invoicing.
Field Support
- Work directly with construction, commissioning, and operations teams to validate field progress and contract deliverables.
- Track time, materials, equipment usage, and progress milestones for contract verification.
- Support field audits, contractor onboarding, and compliance checks.
Commercial & Financial Administration
- Validate contractor invoices, timesheets, and progress claims against contract terms.
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, scope gaps, and cost overruns.
- Support forecasting and cost‑tracking activities with Project Controls.
Change Management
- Coordinate RFIs, change requests, and change orders with contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure changes are properly documented, approved, and incorporated into the contract.
Risk, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to Alberta OH&S, AER requirements, and company policies.
- Verify contractor insurance, certifications, and safety documentation.
- Support incident investigations related to contractual obligations.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas contracting, procurement, or project administration.
- Strong understanding of construction workflows, field documentation, and cost controls.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing field conditions.
