TRS Staffing Solutions has opportunities for a highly experienced Department Lead for the Mechanical Engineering team of a large global consulting firm. In this role, you would be leading the multi-disciplinary teams in their Toronto office on large projects that drive the sustainable solutions of building construction.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of around 50 personnel across Canada, provide training and mentorship to the team to help team members achieve growth.
Provide oversight to the design and management of large projects across Canada and ensure projects are completed under budget and within schedule.
Represent the company to communicate with clients and attend meetings to address clients’ needs.
Prepare fee estimates and proposals.
Identify potential clients in the market and establish relationships with existing and new clients.
Create an environment and culture and that promotes inclusivity and diversity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
At least 15 years of experience in construction (buildings) with demonstrated leadership experience on large projects.
P.Eng in Canada is required.
Strong expertise in HVAC and Plumbing systems design for buildings.
Experience with sustainable and green building design.
Strong communication and people management skills.
