Our client, a leading Utility Infrastructure company with projects across North America is seeking a Disability Manager to join their team in Edmonton, AB.
Here is an exciting opportunity to help create a Mental Health program for our client and reshape their Disability Management system. You will report directly to the Vice-President of HSE and HR Director in Edmonton.
Responsibilities:
+ Support the Disability Coordinator to submit the proper reports to appropriate Workers Compensation Boards or private insurance across Canada and US;
+ Lead the process of building a strong mental health program across the company;
+ Assist field staff/supervisors with WCB / insurance-related questions/requests;
+ Support return-to-work planning with WCB / insurance;
+ Negotiate claims cost relief and account adjustments;
+ Oversee, manage and run appeals if needed;
+ Support of injured workers by maintaining communication;
+ Identify modified work opportunities for workers outside of their normal work areas, coordinate as needed;
+ Coordinate services to complete claims;
+ Supervise and mentor the Disability Coordinator;
Qualifications:
+ 5-10 years experience in disability management/return to work programs;
+ WCB Alberta, WorkplaceNL, & WSIB experience is a major plus;
+ Experience with other Canadian Workers Compensation systems and legislation;
+ Experience creating a mental health program is a strong asset;
+ Strong understanding of Health & Safety best practices and policies;
+ Understanding OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping and reporting requirements would be considered an asset;
+ Willingness to work from their Edmonton office 5 days a week with flexibility to work from home if something urgent pulls you away;
