TRS has an exciting opportunity for a talented Electrical Controls Engineer to join our client’s growing team. This role is focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing electrical control systems for a variety of technical projects. The position plays a key part in driving innovation through new product development while supporting and improving existing technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical control systems, including PLC programming and integration for industrial applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of control systems with overall project objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems and automation controls.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a strong culture of health and safety.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for designs, testing, and quality assurance processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet project and operational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., P.Eng) considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems design, PLC programming, and industrial automation.
  • Strong understanding of power systems and control logic.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with design-for-manufacture principles and prototyping.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
