Our client, a major resource development organization, is seeking HSE TRAINING ADVISORS to support a large-scale project and operational environment. These positions will play a key role in developing workforce capability, delivering safety training programs, and ensuring personnel are competent, compliant, and prepared to work safely in dynamic construction and operational settings.

The successful candidates will be collaborative, proactive, and passionate about developing workforce capability. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment, partnering with operations and construction teams, and helping build a strong safety culture through effective training, coaching, and competency management.

Candidates with a combination of major project, EPC/EPCM, and training delivery experience will be given strong consideration.

Work Location: Remote BC mining site 
Work Assignment: Cross-Shift
Rotation Schedule: 2/2 (camp site assignment with chartered flights available, travel allowance, food and accommodation provided)
Employment Status: Independent Contractor
Contract Duration: 1 year with possible extension 

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and facilitate health, safety, and project-related training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analyses (TNA) and identify workforce capability gaps.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement training materials, assessments, and competency frameworks.
  • Support onboarding, mobilization, and site orientation programs.
  • Conduct competency-based assessments and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Maintain training records, compliance documentation, and competency matrices.
  • Administer and leverage Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with project, construction, operations, and HSE teams to align training programs with business objectives and workforce needs.
  • Provide field coaching and practical guidance to reinforce safe work practices and critical risk controls.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to training, compliance, and workforce development.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as an HSE Trainer, Safety Trainer, Learning & Development Specialist, or similar role within industrial environments.
  • Proven experience supporting major EPC/EPCM projects and project execution environments.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety, critical risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience developing training programs, competency frameworks, and training matrices.
  • Proficiency using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and maintaining training compliance records.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines, including project, construction, operations, and contractor teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting mining, heavy industrial, energy, infrastructure, or large capital projects.
  • Training and assessment certification or equivalent adult education credentials.
  • Underground mining experience is considered an asset but is not required.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), hazard identification, and supervisor training programs.
