Our client is a global mining organization delivering large-scale capital projects with a strong emphasis on cost discipline, project governance, and operational excellence. They offer a collaborative environment where project controls professionals play a key role in managing project financial performance.

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to support a major project during execution. This role is heavily focused on cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.

 


Responsibilities:

  • Track, forecast, and report project costs against approved budgets (AFE).

  • Maintain cost systems and ensure alignment with project baselines and forecasts.

  • Analyze cost performance, identify variances, and support change management.

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, variance analysis, and monthly cost reports.

  • Validate contractor cost reporting and ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams on cost inputs.

  • Support cost baseline development, forecasting cycles, and risk analysis.

  • Maintain cost risk registers and support mitigation planning.

 


Qualifications:

  • ~10+ years of project controls experience with a strong cost control / cost engineering focus.

  • Background in mining, heavy industrial, or oil & gas projects.

  • Strong cost systems experience, with Prism highly preferred (priority skill).

  • Experience with EcoSys, Unifier, or InEight is an asset.

  • Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting processes.

  • Strong analytical and stakeholder coordination skills.

 


Additional Information:

  • Vancouver-based initially; transition to site (2x2 or similar rotation).

  • Camp accommodations, travel, and meals provided.

  • 1-year independent contractor role with potential extension.

  • Candidates must be Vancouver-based and eligible to work in Canada.
