ISBL Area Scaffolding Superintendent

Our client, a leading Industrial Construction company with projects throughout Canada, is seeking an ISBL Area Scaffolding Superintendent to join their team in Kitimat, BC. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and previous experience with processes and methods required to successfully construct and install site preparation work, earthwork (excavation, backfill, and compaction), underground utilities, large mass pour concrete foundations, grouting, structural steel, buildings, HVAC, fireproofing, insulation, paintings and coatings, paving, grading, and landscaping.

Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be involved with implementing an effective safety program to meet applicable regulations. They will monitor the performance of personnel to ensure work is completed according to specifications, plans, construction schedules, applicable safety regulations, and quality requirements. Further to this, they will coordinate with other disciplines to resolve technical problems and provide an immediate response to challenges encountered. Along with this, they will plan, schedule, and coordinate the work with contractors to ensure work is completed per construction schedule.

Qualifications
- Must have 10+ years of experience as a superintendent in a similar capacity
- Will have successfully managed civil and scaffolding activities on projects.
- Should have previous experience with supervising and managing construction activities of multiple civil, concrete, structural, building, painting, scaffolding, and insulation contractors
- Must have experience with building trades and unionized environments
- Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal
