Role Overview
The Lead Project Engineer role is responsible for leading the technical execution of engineering projects within a defined region, project, or study. This individual will ensure alignment with project objectives, engineering standards, and delivery milestones while providing technical leadership, coordination, and oversight across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical execution of engineering scopes in accordance with project specifications, standards, and safety requirements
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to engineering team members, including contractors and external partners
  • Coordinate engineering activities with construction, project controls, procurement/contracts, and operations teams
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance
  • Facilitate or lead design reviews, technical risk assessments, and workshops with contractors, consultants, and vendors
  • Manage engineering scope, schedules, resources, and budgets to support successful project delivery
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate engineering and project risks throughout execution
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities
  • Support site‑based work and field execution on a fly‑in / fly‑out basis, as required by project needs

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related discipline)
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada or actively working toward accreditation
  • 10+ years of experience delivering large‑scale capital projects (multi‑$100M), preferably in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial environments
  • Proven experience as an owner’s representative, project engineer, discipline lead, or engineering manager
  • Strong understanding of project engineering best practices, quality assurance, risk management, and contract administration
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders across functions and partners
  • Experience working in remote or site‑based project environments is an asset
