Overview
The Office Service Technician / Facility Technician supports daily operations by maintaining office equipment, performing building maintenance, and ensuring a safe, functional, and efficient workplace. This hybrid role blends technical support, facility upkeep, and office services, making it essential for smooth organizational operations.
Facility & Building Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting).
- Conduct preventative maintenance such as filter changes, coil cleaning, and system diagnostics.
- Repair minor electrical issues (e.g., outlets, switches, light fixtures).
- Address plumbing needs (leaks, clogged drains, fixture maintenance).
- Monitor and maintain fire safety systems (extinguishers, emergency lighting).
- Sidewalk Snow Removal.
Office Services & Operational Support
- Perform minor repairs to office furniture, fixtures, and workspaces (patching, painting, ceiling tiles, floor tiles).
- Support office moves, reconfigurations, and ergonomic adjustments.
- Maintain cleanliness in areas requiring attention beyond custodial services (spills, debris removal).
Coordination & Communication
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
- Document maintenance activities, inspections, and service logs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (HVAC, electrical, CPR/AED) preferred.
- Experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or office technical support.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and light-to-moderate lifting.
- Work may involve responding to urgent repair needs with ON CALL scheduling.
