Bapco’s main activities include refining, storage and marketing. They form the heart of the company’s operations and have enabled the company to meet requirements of customers from around the world. Bapco is known for its state-of-the-art production processes and for some of the highest quality products and services that have been exported across the Middle East, India, the Far East, South East Asia and Africa. 

Bapco has been recognized as one of the main architects of modern Bahrain because of the company’s pioneering role as the first oil company in the Arabian Gulf to export oil. Today, Bapco along with its affiliates remains one of the key contributors to Bahrain’s GDP and an employer of choice to many Bahrainis.

Bapco owns a 267,000 barrels per day (BPD) refinery — over one-sixth of the crude originates from Bahrain while the rest is pumped from Saudi Arabia. Over 85% of Bapco's refined products and crude oil are exported to countries across Africa, the Middle East, the Far East and South East Asia.
