Geotechnical Engineer

Our client, a leading Engineering Consultancy with projects worldwide, is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Montreal, QC. In this position, you would be working within a company that values meeting its customer's expectations through providing high-quality and innovative services. The successful candidate will be joining a fantastic team of talented professionals in a position that boasts longevity.

In this role, the qualified candidate will be involved with geotechnical design and analysis on infrastructure projects. They will be working in a multidisciplinary team environment and interact regularly with clients, junior staff, and other organizations. Further to this, they will design bridge foundations, tunnels, etc. in collaboration with other disciplines.

Job Duties
- Complete geotechnical design and analysis on underground structures, foundations, earthworks, retaining walls, and related
- Conduct the seismic design of underground structures
- Prepare design reports, calculations, and specifications
- Interpret field and laboratory tests and Geotechnical Baseline Reports and Geotechnical Interpretive Reports
- Utilize geotechnical softwares including PLAXIS, FLAC, UDEC, and other geotechnical finite element modelling softwares

Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Tunneling or Geotechnical Engineering
- A Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering is considered an asset
- 5+ years of experience with geotechnical engineering design on infrastructure projects
- Must have P.Eng designation or be able to obtain one within one year of starting
- Must have strong knowledge of structural or soil/rock-structure interaction design
- Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal
- Must be fluent in French
