Position Summary
The Electrical Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating all electrical engineering activities on assigned projects, from concept development through detailed engineering, construction support, and commissioning. This role ensures that electrical designs are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with client's engineering standards, project requirements, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the electrical engineering scope on minor to medium projects across industrial, infrastructure, energy, or life sciences sectors.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for electrical systems including:
- Power generation and distribution
- Medium and low voltage systems
- Substations and transformers
- Motor control centers (MCCs)
- UPS and emergency power systems
- Lighting, grounding, and lightning protection
- Develop and review electrical design deliverables such as:
- Single-line diagrams
- Load calculations
- Equipment specifications
- Cable schedules and layouts
- Construction drawings and packages
- Coordinate electrical engineering activities with other disciplines (mechanical, process, structural, instrumentation, and controls).
- Lead and mentor electrical engineers and designers; assign work, review deliverables, and provide technical guidance.
- Interface with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and factory acceptance testing (FAT).
- Provide construction and commissioning support, including field engineering, RFIs, and site troubleshooting.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8–12 years of electrical engineering experience, including leadership on large-scale projects.
- Proven experience in EPC or engineering consulting environments.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and applicable codes and standards.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with project stakeholders.
