Duration: 6 months contract-to-hire
Hours: 8-5 (M-F)
Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly organized, eager, and self-driven Accounting Specialist to support their operations in the construction industry in Greenville, SC. The ideal candidate takes initiative, works independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Invoice Generation: Create and send accurate invoices to assigned customers.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers to ensure all payments are properly recorded and investigate discrepancies.
- Collections: Follow up on overdue invoices, send reminders, and employ collection strategies to secure timely payments.
- Customer Inquiries: Address customer questions regarding invoices, payments, or account status professionally and promptly.
- Reporting: Prepare aging reports and monitor receivables.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records, assist with audits, support month-end accounting processes and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred OR
- A combination of education and 2-3+ years of work-related experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or similar roles
- Prior experience in accounts receivable/collections, general ledger reconciliation, and customer invoicing
- A strong eagerness to learn, grow, and take ownership of your work
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional communication and customer service skills
