Project Controls / Technical Coordinator
Position Summary
TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Project Controls / Technical Coordinator to support engineering and construction projects by coordinating technical documentation, schedules, cost data, and project controls activities. This role serves as a key interface between project management, engineering, construction, procurement, and project controls teams to ensure accurate reporting, document control, and alignment with project execution standards.Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project controls activities including schedule updates, progress tracking, and cost data collection
- Support development and maintenance of project schedules, forecasts, and performance reports
- Track engineering deliverables, technical documents, and construction progress against project plans
- Assist with change management, trends, and risk/opportunity tracking
- Prepare and distribute project status reports, dashboards, and presentations
- Interface with engineering disciplines, construction teams, procurement, and subcontractors to validate technical and progress information
- Support document control processes, including tracking drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
- Assist with baseline development, updates, and change control documentation
- Support project closeout activities, including final reporting and lessons learned
- Ensure compliance with procedures, contract requirements, and client standards
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience (one of the following):- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or a related discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience, OR
- High school diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant project controls or technical coordination experience
- Experience supporting engineering and/or construction projects
- Working knowledge of project controls principles, scheduling, and reporting
- Proficiency with tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, and document management systems
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and communicate effectively with stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in EPC or construction contractor environments
- Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) concepts
- Experience with cost systems, reporting tools, or ERP platforms
- Prior experience supporting large or complex capital projects
Work Environment
- Office-based with potential travel to project or construction sites as required
- May support multiple projects simultaneously
- Fast-paced, collaborative engineering and construction environment
