Job Title: Colorimetric Associate
Location: Charleston, SC
Employment Type: Full-Time / Direct Hire
Salary: $52,000-$54,000 DOE
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Colorimetric Associate to join our team in beautiful Charleston, SC. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for preparing, testing, adjusting, and documenting color samples used in product formulations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys technical work, problem solving, and contributing to high-quality product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive mixing and matching of paints and coatings using established tools, formulas, samples, and customer specifications.
- Prepare and test color technologies and methodologies; assess the degree of color match and perform necessary adjustments.
- Create custom color samples for internal and external customer needs.
- Update and maintain databases of color formulas to support accurate retrieval and modification of mixtures.
- Compare preliminary mixtures to desired product color, texture, and finish; make appropriate refinements.
- Complete documentation related to color mixing, testing procedures, results, and conclusions; seek guidance as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following 5S principles and proper equipment-care standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers.
- Experience with SAP software preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive, customer-service-focused attitude.
- Capable of working independently and completing assignments within established procedures and guidelines.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to safely perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable regulations.
- Regular, punctual attendance is required.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and reaching.
- Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals; proper PPE provided.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally.
