Location: Spartanburg, SC
Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire, salaried with bonus
Pay: $135-150k base (relocation assistance available)

Reports to: CEO/President
** PE License and a Wastewater Equipment background is a huge plus **
The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading subordinates within the department to ensure procedures and standards are met. The Director works closely with sales and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet customer requirements while minimizing manufacturing costs.
The Director is responsible for completeness of design projects.
Job Duties:
Position Responsibilities- Essential
• Responsible for the engineering department’s team members engaged on a project.
• Maintains project timetables to ensure on time delivery of drawings to manufacturing.
• Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
• Review and revise changes to engineering standards, policies or details
• Work with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, purchase, and evaluate products according to quality standards and specifications.
• Provide engineering support for manufacturing and sales to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Position Responsibilities - Leadership
• Provides department with expertise and resources for projects assigned including
• managing estimated hours on projects.
• Maintains morale within the department to obtain goals set, giving support when required to team members.
• Monitors attendance, productivity and manufacturing schedule to meet deadlines and provide guidance or discipline when necessary.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college and a minimum of 10 years’ experience. Master of Mechanical Engineering would be a plus.
• Professional Engineer designation required.
• Experience with machine design.
• Prefer knowledge in the wastewater industry.
• Experience with all aspects of stainless steel and mild steel sheet metal fabrication (welding, forming, and laser cutting).
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deal with interruptions while meeting timely deadlines.
• Experienced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and 2 & 3D CAD and Solid works systems.
• Prepare engineering drawings using 2D or 3D CAD and Solid works software.
• Experienced with ISO standards for compliancy in the Engineering group.
**Must be authorized to work in the US regardless of visa transfer or sponsorship
**Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check to be eligible for hire
**Local candidates preferred though some relocation assistance may be offered
