Senior Electrical Designer 

Pay Range: $85,000 – $120,000
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)
Employment Type: Long‑Term Contract
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship Required

Position Overview

The Senior Electrical Designer provides hands‑on technical support for electrical design activities on industrial EPC projects. This role focuses on executing and checking design deliverables, performing electrical calculations, and supporting interdisciplinary coordination on moderate to complex scopes of work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare 2D CAD drawings of moderate to advanced complexity in accordance with project standards
  • Support 3D electrical layout activities for moderate to complex design scope
  • Check and review work performed by other designers for accuracy and compliance
  • Review drawings and vendor documentation within the discipline and across disciplines; identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Perform electrical design calculations, including:
    • Lighting
    • Raceway and wire sizing
    • Voltage drop
    • Cable pulling
    • Panelboard, breaker, and junction box sizing
  • Prepare electrical material take‑offs and quantity estimates
  • Adhere to applicable industry codes, standards, and departmental procedures
  • Provide field assistance and construction support as needed
  • Collaborate closely with electrical engineers and other design disciplines

Basic Qualifications

  • Accredited two‑year technical degree OR a combination of education and experience totaling 10 years
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical design practices and standards
  • Experience producing electrical design deliverables in an EPC or industrial environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, designers, supervisors, and stakeholders
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to meet project schedules
  • Knowledge of material availability and cost considerations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
  • Exposure to Smart 3D / SmartPlant 3D preferred
  • Industrial EPC project experience
