TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for an HSE Area Lead role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily field support to construction and maintenance teams, ensuring safe preparation and execution of planned activities.
- Participate in shift handovers and work‑planning discussions to identify priorities, high‑risk tasks, and required controls.
- Review and administer work permits, validate hazard controls, and conduct routine audits of active permits to confirm compliance.
- Perform field inspections, verify hazard assessments, and support risk evaluations for non-routine or high‑hazard activities.
- Collaborate with operations and HSE teams to align work plans, isolation requirements, and safe work procedures.
- Ensure equipment is properly prepared, isolated, and verified before maintenance or intervention.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and training to permit support staff and frontline workers involved in work-control processes.
- Support incident reporting and investigations, contributing to corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation and monitor overall execution of work to ensure adherence to safety standards and permit conditions.
- Preform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in Health & Safety, work control, or a related field.
- Background in mining, heavy industrial, or oil and gas operations is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working on remote sites and/or rotational schedules is an asset.
- Solid understanding of provincial and federal safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and support safe work planning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach diverse teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital documentation systems.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
