TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for an HSE Area Lead role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry. 

Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide daily field support to construction and maintenance teams, ensuring safe preparation and execution of planned activities.
  • Participate in shift handovers and work‑planning discussions to identify priorities, high‑risk tasks, and required controls.
  • Review and administer work permits, validate hazard controls, and conduct routine audits of active permits to confirm compliance.
  • Perform field inspections, verify hazard assessments, and support risk evaluations for non-routine or high‑hazard activities.
  • Collaborate with operations and HSE teams to align work plans, isolation requirements, and safe work procedures.
  • Ensure equipment is properly prepared, isolated, and verified before maintenance or intervention.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and training to permit support staff and frontline workers involved in work-control processes.
  • Support incident reporting and investigations, contributing to corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and monitor overall execution of work to ensure adherence to safety standards and permit conditions.
  • Preform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications
 
  • 5–10 years of experience in Health & Safety, work control, or a related field.
  • Background in mining, heavy industrial, or oil and gas operations is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working on remote sites and/or rotational schedules is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of provincial and federal safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and support safe work planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach diverse teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital documentation systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
