Essential Functions:
• Reconcile account ledgers to ensure proper posting.
• Verify discrepancies and recommend resolution.
• Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls.
• Ensure that margins and markups are calculated and reported accurately to minimize adverse financial risk.
• Provide support during internal and external audit events when requested.
• Work collaboratively to streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors within the process.
• Create weekly reports, sort and filter data and send to management
• Prepare reports, budgets, and financial statements
• Gather and analyze financial information for internal use
• Ensure timely collection and payment of all outstanding invoices; call and follow up with customers and carriers on an as-needed basis
• Track and monitor aging and past due receivables; proactively report any concerns to the finance and accounting teams
• Manage vendor and customer onboarding and system entry
• Coordinate with various vendors, carriers, customers, and collections agencies (if needed) regarding all freight invoicing and billing
• Verify and process daily billing submissions.
• Support revenue accruals on a monthly basis.
• Support operations in tracking of projects status with billing.
• Post daily invoice upload into the reporting system.
• Comprehends costs including but not limited to materials, labor, freight and overhead.
• Assist with collections to gather documents needed for invoice submission to the customer.
• Verify supplier balance and assist in keeping them current.
• Perform month end close entries related to billing and AP
• Complete special projects and other duties as may be assigned.
Education/Experience Requirement:
• Associates degree or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably at a logistics company
• Experience working with QuickBooks Online and/or other accounting software
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Strong work ethic and persistence combined with patience and a positive attitude
• Well established organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail
• Ability to delegate, multi-task and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
