Civil Design & Drafting
- Develop 2D and 3D civil design models using Civil 3D, including grading, earthwork, site layout, utilities, and drainage systems.
- Produce civil construction drawings such as site plans, sections, profiles, grading plans, demolition plans, foundation drawings, and associated details.
- Assist with development of civil/structural deliverables including concrete layouts, excavations, supports, pads, roadways, fencing, stormwater infrastructure, and site access routes.
- Revise and update drawings per engineering markups and design changes following project standards.
Technical & Project Support
- Support calculations and engineering studies by preparing accurate design inputs, quantities, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure design integration and design traceability.
- Assist with preparation of material takeoffs, bills of materials, and field construction packages.
- Maintain drawing accuracy and version control in accordance with nuclear quality standards.
Nuclear Industry Requirements
- Follow and apply nuclear QA/QC procedures, configuration management practices, and applicable codes and standards.
- Support design for work inside secure or radiologically controlled areas, ensuring adherence to nuclear safety culture expectations.
- Assist in preparing design packages for regulatory review, including documentation traceability and change management.
Teamwork & Communication
- Participate in model reviews, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, and design checkpoints.
- Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and construction personnel to resolve design issues.
- Provide mentorship to junior drafters/designers as needed.
Qualifications - Required
- 15-20 years of civil design experience in industrial, energy, utility, or EPC environments.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D for grading, surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, and utility layouts.
- Experience developing construction‑ready drawings and working from engineering sketches/markups.
- Working knowledge of site development, foundations, drainage, and civil infrastructure design.
- Ability to work within a regulated, procedure‑driven environment.
Preferred
Direct experience on nuclear power projects (new nuclear, operating fleet modifications, site civil, or balance‑of‑plant).
Familiarity with nuclear QA programs such as NQA‑1, 10 CFR requirements, or related compliance frameworks.
Experience with Navisworks, Revit, or Plant 3D for model coordination.
Understanding of modular construction, heavy industrial site logistics, or structural interfaces.
