Manufacturer in north Houston is seeking a Controller for a permanent role. Hybrid office available.

Duties

• Participating in the month end close process including project accounting, journal entry, reconciliation and reporting processes
• Working with project management to supporting project review financial data and driving operational team (PM/PC/procurement/engineering) processes to impact the financials
• Review and support subcontract vendor progress accruals at month end, project cost analysis and impact to forecasting
• Develop JDE processes that will help provide efficiency or transparency into the financials to make better decisions
• Cash flow oversight / forecasting / ownership
• Presenting various to the local and executive management and making suitable observations and recommendation
• Managing operational data and maintaining data accuracy and integrity
• Managing the accounting and finance team in ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements
• Reviewing financial data periodically to ensure fairness and completeness of the data
• Handles special projects as requested by management
• Helps with preparation of the yearly audit
• Helps maintain the internal control environment
• Assists with safeguarding the assets of investors
• Stays current on changes in regulations and other industry news

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance

Primarily in an office environment - walking, standing, and other office related activities
Periodic weekend or evening work is expected
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
• 5-10 years of accounting experience, in a POC project environment (large projects, crossing multiple years)
• 3-5 years of supervisory responsibilities
• CPA preferred
• JD Edwards experience preferred
