Our manufacturing client is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their growing team in the Charleston, SC area. 

This person will work directly with Maintenance for trouble shooting and fixing, process improvements, expansions, and or replacements of controls, modification and program changes of electrical control systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Installs and set parameters for electronic control devices like Variable frequency drives, temperature controllers, sensors (photo sensors, distance sensors, encoders, etc.
  • Able to study the Programs of the PLC and able to make changes to achieve the desired output.
  • Able to Program PLC, Allen Bradley PLC using RS logix 5000, Rs logix 500 and Siemens with S7 and TIA portal.
  • Able to Program the HMI, Allen Bradley, Siemens and Direct Automation HMIs.
  • Able to read blueprints and other specifications, and using of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical test equipment / gauges.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty components in Control system with programming and troubleshooting knowledge on the control software’s.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty components and reconfigure the parameters in CNC control system to restore the machine back to production operations.
  • Able to Program the Robots preferably Fanuc robots and teach the position as required.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty components and reconfigure the parameters in Robots to restore the automation cell equipment’s back to production operations.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as machine repair, maintenance, and tool maker to diagnose malfunction.
  • Work in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work order tracking, time entry, parts procurement (SAP)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associates or Technical Degree with 10+ years’ experience with Robot programming, PLC programming, HMI programming in automotive industry (Casting Facility is a Plus).
  • Solid knowledge of ABB PLC program software, Siemens TIA Portal software, Fanuc robot programming software, HMI software, CNC Controller – Fanuc and Siemens.
  • Support compliance efforts of ISO, OSHA,
  • Able to work various shifts, irregular hours and emergency call-ins as needed
  • Able to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
