E & I Technician

TRS Craft Services is looking for an experience E & I Tech for a chemical plant in Houston. this position can be a contract to hire or possible Direct Hire position.


Job Summary: Provide a brief description of the job:
Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation and electrical repairs. Maintain control loops, electrical systems for pump motors and blowers including breakers and starters and plant HVAC unit. Strong knowledge of PLC and have programming capabilities. Strong electrical system knowledge of low and high voltage is a must. Will help in other areas when needed and work with the maintenance mechanics on repairs and projects. The person in this role will be placed on a call-in list and must be willing to work overtime as required. Responsible for upkeep of equipment utilized to keep processing plant running and producing product on-time.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Instrumentation and control loop troubleshooting. Repair, calibration and tuning of instrumentation, complete work order repairs, complete monthly preventative maintenance work orders and electrical checklist and maintain equipment files in the plant 20%
Frequent inspections and repair and replacements of electrical components associated with, control gas fired equipment such as the steam boiler, thermal oxidizer, hot oil heaters and chilled water refrigeration unit. 20%
Electrical and/or instrumentation installations and small projects and maintaining associated equipment files and related records 20%
Troubleshot and repair or replace plant equipment including fans, motors, control valves and breakers 20%
Assisting maintenance mechanics in the plant working on pumps, agitators and other general duties of maintenance mechanics. 20%




Knowledge and Skills: Specialized knowledge and skills needed to perform the job.
Strong electrical and instrumentation knowledge with at least 5 to 10 years of experience in the industrial field with plant maintenance experience. This candidate must be able to work alone and / or work with others. Must possess analytical and troubleshooting skills; take initiative and responsibility to perform work with minimal supervision. This candidate must be able to read electrical schematics, ladder logic, loop drawings, P&IDs and specify equipment. Knowledge of work order systems, as well as preventative and predictive maintenance required. PLC programming knowledge are required and will be needed. PC skills area a must and will be required. Must be able to get along well with others and work together to accomplish plant maintenance goals and succeed as a team, is a must.


Education: Education, licenses, certifications or degrees needed to perform the job.
Five to ten years of experience in the electrical field. Technical education with degrees or certifications in electrical, process control and / or instrumentation desirable. Plant maintenance experience is desirable and a plus

$38-40 DOE contract to hire or $43+ DOE for Direct Hire
