Responsibilities include developing and implementing plans and processes to characterize product reliability and performance with a focus on warranty assurance. You will work with product development, supply chain, and manufacturing to ensure that product reliability satisfies company specifications and complies with regulatory requirements for safety and performance.
● Define reliability demonstration and assessment strategies for power electronics
● Champion Design-for-Reliability and Design for Safety
● Lead Design Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (DFMEA) and conduct testing and evaluation of high-risk items
● Create reliability test plans focused on technical risks and which complement project schedules and certification requirements
● Develop and document approaches to evaluate product reliability characteristics based on industries best practices, appropriate standards, and physics-of-failure
● Partner with peers to develop special tests, Design of Experiments, data analysis, reliability statistical analysis (especially Weibull) and statistical sampling plans
● Manage execution of test plans with internal and external test laboratories
● Ensure tests are successfully executed/implemented and data, results, and recommendations are reported to the cognizant teams
● Participate in data reviews and analysis to help determine risks and actual or potential causes of failures and propose possible solutions based on experience and best reliability practices
● Develop subject matter expertise regarding high risk and high frequency failure modes, especially for methods of detection and analysis
