ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all aspects of projects of moderate size, complexity, and duration (from initiation to delivery)
- Secure appropriate resources for the project team. Develop and manage staffing plans for project team.
- Coordinate members of the cross-functional project team including engineers, designers, technicians, business team partners, manufacturing, production planning, IT, and procurement
- Develop project plans, schedules, work plans, estimate resources and costs for all stages, and facilitate the creation and presentation of business cases
- Work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to define the project scope, goals, and deliverables
- Manage creation of product requirements, technical assessments, production line capability reviews, prototyping plans, and production approval processes
- Document and track project plans against project milestones and budgets
- Develop and maintain relationships with team members, project sponsor, and stakeholders
- Manage the integration of vendor and/or supplier tasks and track the deliverables
- Maintain continuous alignment of project scope with defined strategic business objectives
- Communicate both technical and non-technical information to all levels of staff and management
- Monitor progress and critical path of projects. Identify problems impeding progress, and work creatively and analytically demonstrating teamwork and innovation in order to resolve problems and roadblocks
- Communicate risks, changes, action items, resource deficits, and other information relating to the project to leadership
- Proactively manage scope change requests
- Provide reports, updates and feedback to project team and management
- Identify successful and unsuccessful project elements after project completion and provide recommendations for improvement
- Administratively close projects with final report, updated project financials, and lessons learned
- Mentor other Engineering Project Managers
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Requires one of the following:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering, business, or a technical related field of study and three (3) years of project management related experience, OR
- Associate degree and eight (8) years project management related experience, OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and twelve (12) years of project management related experience
- Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects, and priorities
- Ability to establish project plans, regularly monitor and track progress on work projects, and communicate with project partners
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with general supervision
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related processes
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply financial analysi
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
- Knowledge of SAP and Stage Gate, preferred
- Project management training or training in project management related fields to include risk, quality, and scheduling, preferred
- PMP Certification, preferred
