Fabrication Finisher
Shift - 1st Shift - 6am - 2pm Mon - Fri (Some Sat as needed)
Pay - $18.29/hr
Job Purpose/Summary:
• To prepare and add final finishes to steel parts and assemblies prior to moving to another operation or shipping.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• • Prepares steel in layout area for drilling and counterboring of holes and slots.
• Transports steel parts from layout finishing area to sandblast or paint booth for further operations. Prepares parts by deburring, cleaning, etc. Hangs parts on racks, hooks.
• Reviews work order for due date, paint type and finish required.
• Cuts rubber lining components with template minimizing waste. Applies adhesive and rubber to optimize functionality and appearance for customer.
• Mixes paint according to specifications in work packet. Sets up spray pump, tests, and applies paint to steel parts. Removes parts after drying and moves to next operation on routing.
• Stencils, marks and installs ferrule inserts according to customer order.
• Cleans paint booth, paint pumps and sprays, changes filters, etc. Performs preventative maintenance to keep equipment in good working order.
• Maintains good housekeeping, 5S and safety practices in work area.
• Performs related duties as required.
Necessary Abilities/Skills/Certifications:
• Forklift certification
Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:
• High school or GED diploma
• 0-1 years work experience in a manufacturing environment
Accountability:
• For the quality of finished frames, conversions, trommels and stringers. Meet or exceed productivity targets daily.
Equipment:
• Hand tools, forklift, pallet jack, crane, sandblast and paint equipment
Working Conditions
• Shop environment, hot, dusty and
• Must wear proper protective equipment: paint overalls, goggles, and respirator during paint operations
