TRS Craft Services have project needs for a Lead Landscaper in San Diego, CA. Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance offered at sign on.
Position Title: Lead Landscape Worker
Position Function:
Perform various routine maintenance assignments and coordinate with maintenance lead to produce and direct activities for landscape team. Repair and maintenance of landscaping equipment.
Responsible for work performed in their designated areas of responsibilities/staff (Landscaper).
As a lead you will be directing landscape team, comply with Fluor prescribed and published work rules, policies, procedures, and safety practices.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety
• Must work safely by keeping abreast of and adhering to all established safety practices/procedures.
• Obtains required safety training in a timely manner.
• Makes recommendations on safety and environmental procedures/practices.
General Duties (include but not limited to):
• Performs mowing, edging, and trimming activities.
• Keeps landscaped areas free of weeds.
• Maintains flower beds as required.
• Trims/shapes shrubs, hedges and trims trees.
• Must be able to competently and safely operate mowers and trimmers.
• Use basic tools to repair site signage, fences, parking blocks, etc.
Position Summary:
• Assist/Maintains all required documents, records and logs as to comply with state/local/facility/company regulations and policies.
• Maintain the Maintenance Department preventive maintenance system.
• Directs daily efforts of all trades within their area of responsibility, supervises trade.
• Coordinates work with other trades and outside contractors.
• Monitors service and construction contractor work for: functionality, quality, and maintainability. Assures all safety procedures are observed.
• Makes periodic planned and unplanned inspections of the campus to monitor the maintenance and safety program.
• Monitor the work order related to the designed area/staff and schedule their completion.
• Perform work and training as needed in their prospective areas of responsibility as needed to meet the demands of the department/facility.

• Respond as quickly as possible when called in an emergency circumstance (i.e. disaster). When required, stay on the job until a critical situation is over.
• Work closely with the Site Manager/Supervisers and other designated persons in overseeing the proper functioning and maintenance of all critical utilities, life safety, equipment, and duties performed by the maintenance department.
• Attend facility-sponsored training
• Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department/facility.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Applies advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position.
• Ability to effectively communicate policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by fellow employees.
• Advanced understanding of the safe, effective and proper use and operation of general hand tools & landscape equipment
• Strong computer skills to include but not limited to MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Strong skills in the use and operation of electronic communication and data collection devices.
• Preferred to be experienced with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment and machinery and be able to read and interpret technical manuals, data sheets and blue-prints.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
• Must have advanced knowledge of materials used in the trade.
• Ability to interact effectively with fellow employees.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma equivalent trade school preferable, knowledge of computers, five years performing duties as a Landscaper, two years supervisory/management experience preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Supervision
Works under minimal supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
