Reports to: Corporate Accounting Manager
Location: Greenville, SC
Industry: Construction, Infrastructure
Status of Hire: full-time/salary – direct hire
Salary: $60k - $65k
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for multiple companies within the organization timely and in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles.
• Responsible for processing the payrolls of the company and its subsidiaries, as well as assisting the Corporate Accounting Manager with general monthly accounting duties
• Conduct regular payroll reporting as required, including required certified payroll reports, and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger.
• Process garnishments, liens, 401(K) and other withholdings on schedule.
• Maintain personnel database(s) regarding salaries and wages, including prevailing wage tables, benefits cost tables, multiple state tax tables, and any other payroll-related data.
• Address and resolve employee issues & complaints relating to payroll.
• Assist Corporate Accounting Manager & Corporate Controller with annual external audits as they relate to payroll and related reporting.
• Work with company database programs to process payroll and other accounting functions.
Qualifications:
• High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred.
• Proven related experience in a fast-paced environment required, using third party applications, ideally in a construction environment. Foundation software experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws.
• Strong knowledge of union and prevailing wage structures, rules, and laws.
• Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers & employees.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft applications.
